BIOGRAPHY:
Barbara La'Palm, singer, songwriter, recording artist, a native of Buffalo,
New York discovered her talent to sing at a very young age, and began performing in her
church youth choir where her gift was cultivated, singing lead and background vocals (1st and 2nd Soprano).
As singing became her forte- Barbara went on as a lead vocalist to experience singing with several Ensembles,
one of which was "The Ted Johnson Gospel Singers" an opening performance for a weekly viewed television show "Tedšs Gospel World."
Additionally Barbara would sing opening for various television talk shows. Barbara later joined a Gospel group "The Children of Love"
and there she began her recording experience, and with it, the opportunity to share the stage opening for renowned artists such as:
The Winans, Andrea Crouch and Tramaine Hawkins ... to name a few among the Gospel Greats.
Barbara made an adventurous move to the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area as she believed
it would offer her more challenges and the opportunity to expose her very special talents.
Presently, she is a free-lance soloist, and also serves as a member of the Washington Performing
Arts Society (Choir) and has backed up such artist as: Diane Reeves, Yolanda Adams, and Karen Clark to name a few.
Barbara also serves as a member of the Cabaret Network.
Barbara has entered and won numerous singing competitions, some of which ultimately led her to sing the
"National Anthem" for Professional Sports games
Barbara was showcased several times at "Mr. Henry's" a notable Supper Club
in N.W. Washington, D. C. and has performed several concerts throughout various cities.
MUSICAL THEATRE
Barbara experienced musical theater, performing with Rockville Musical Theatre's once
Off-Broadway Musical "MAME" in Rockville, Maryland. [Click to View ]
* RECORDING & DEBUT *
Barbara fulfilled one of her major goals when she recorded her "Introduction CD"
Titled "Make It" which she wrote, arranged, produced, and debuted in Europe where she performed a
concert (December 2000). Her grand performance led her to be invited back, to perform a Retirement Ceremony for a Chief
Master Sergeant of the U.S. Military (Air force) in May 2001. [Click to View]
VOLUNTEER SERVICE
Barbara lends her talent to volunteer at various charitable and non-profit organization functions:
Mental Health Organization(s), e.g., Comprehensive Alcohol and Drug Abuse Center, Child and Youth Services Program
(Special Needs Children), and the Washington D.C. Chapter - Continental Society.
